"All you always wanted to know about men and women... now you can ask"

A fun and insightful gathering in a "fishbowl" format

Have you ever felt a sense of puzzlement or frustration about the thoughts and behavior of the opposite sex? Most of us have not had a chance to hear a frank conversation that happens among members of the opposite sex when they are alone. If a group of guys are talking and a female comes by, the conversation changes. Same the other way around. This exercise is a great way to safely share what is really on our minds about men and women, and find out what is really on theirs. Sounds intriguing? It is!  This is your chance to get more insight into the other sex :) Don't miss the opportunity.

This gathering will be facilitated by Alan Dynin and myself (Goran Matkovic). We participated in the event like this one in July 2010 at a New Culture Summer Camp (www.nfnc.org/sc). We were so impressed that we decided to do it here in Atlanta.

We will start with all participants introducing themselves, instructions about the fishbowl format, and some icebreaker exercises. Before and after the fishbowl there will be some time for discussion and socializing.
If there are people who got hungry or feel like more socializing - there are several late dinner options in the neighborhood.

Fishbowl format:
The group is split into two subgroups - men and women, who convene separately and come up with questions for the other group, which are written on cards. The participants then form two circles, one subgroup inside the other, both of them facing inwards. The inside group picks one question at a time and discuss it, while those in the outside circle listen in. After about 45 minutes, the facilitators stop the discussion in the inner (fishbowl) circle and invite those in the outer circle to offer their thoughts and comments (for about 15 minutes) on what they heard. The circles are then reversed.

This is the first in a new series of my gatherings. Click here to see some of the ideas for future meetings.
